Helmet Fire Adds New US Navy Program Variant

June 2009: We've recently developed and fielded a new program variant that will be used by Navy Staff Members. This brings our total number of fielded program variants to six.


Emergency Department Research Presented at SAEM 

May 2009: The Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) selected two abstracts related to our programs for poster presentations at the SAEM Annual Meeting in May 2009. Physicians from the University of Rochester Medical Center's Department of Emergency Medicine provided information on both our Emergency Department Hazard-identification program as well as our Physician-In-Training Evaluation System.

Helmet Fire Awarded US Navy Submarine Contract

March 2009: The USN recently awarded Helmet Fire, Inc. a combined continuation and expansion contract in association with our work in collecting human factors data from the submarine fast-attack community.


Helmet Fire's Patient Safety Group Earns PSO Designation 

December 2008: Helmet Fire, Inc.'s Patient Safety Group has been designated a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). According to AHRQ, PSOs are designed to improve the quality and safety of U.S. health care by encouraging clinicians and health care organizations to report and share—voluntarily—data on patient safety events without fear of legal discovery. Helmet Fire Fields Emergency Medicine Pilot Programs 

June 2008: Two new program variants have been deployed in order to evaluate the effectiveness of our data collection systems outside the military environment. For the next several months, the University of Rochester Medical Center will be evaluating two Helmet Fire programs: one for identifying hazards within the Emergency Department; and one for evaluating Emergency Medicine physicians-in-training on a variety of  professional development and clinical-setting performance issues.

Helmet Fire to Exhibit at HAI Heli-Expo 

Feb 2008: Helmet Fire will be exhibiting at the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Heli-Expo tradeshow in Houston, TX between 24 - 26 February.
